The National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health Announces Panelists for Benefit Performance of Roe at Arena Stage

Washington, D.C. — On February 15, the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health (NLIRH) will present From Roe to Whole Woman’s Health – the Fight Ahead for Bodily Autonomy, a discussion in tandem with a special performance of the critically-acclaimed new play, Roe at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. Prior to the show, Teresa Younger, President and CEO of the Ms. Foundation for Women will moderate a panel discussion centered on the impacts of policy and U.S. Supreme Court decisions on women over time, and current threats and attacks we face going into the uncertainty of the Trump administration.

Roe’s timely debut at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. tells the backstory of the historical Supreme Court case, Roe v. Wade . Roe presents the relationship between Sarah Weddington—the plaintiff’s attorney who argued the case—and Norma McCorvey, known as plaintiff Jane Roe, through the rise of the anti-choice and pro-choice movements, and into the present. The performance will be followed by a post-show talkback with the creative team.
