NLIRH Joins Health Equity and Civil Rights Community in Celebrating the Affordable Care Act
Today, the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health (NLIRH) joins 180 national, state, and local health equity advocates in celebrating the second anniversary of Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA).
In a letter to President Barack Obama and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, health equity advocates celebrate ACA’s unprecedented advancement of health care access and the provisions of the law that will reduce health and health care disparities experienced by Latinos and other underserved communities. The letter highlights how the law has already positively impacted the lives of millions of people and families in communities we serve and outlines how the health reform law will continue to advance health equity as it is implemented. Signers of the letter express strong support for the law’s full funding and implementation.
