Our Issues

The work of the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health focuses on three main program areas:

• Abortion Access
• Reproductive Health Disparities
• Immigration Reform

The breadth of issues that fall under those program areas include:

• Advancing Immigrant Women’s Rights
• Expanding Abortion Access through legislative advocacy, including repeal of the Hyde Amendment
• Advocating Health Reform and health policies that address the needs of Latinas and immigrant women
• Examining the needs of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Latin@ community
• Shifting discourse on teen pregnancy to one that focuses on Healthy Pregnancies, Parenting and the sexual health of Young Latinas
• Ensuring Contraceptive Equity for the Latina community
• Exploring Latinas’ experiences with sterilization
• Promoting Civic Engagement for NLIRH’s activists and allies
• Protecting Latinas’ rights in the Courts
