ORGANIZATIONAL DESCRIPTION:  Founded in 1994, the mission of the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health (NLIRH) is to build Latina power to guarantee the fundamental human right to reproductive health, dignity and justice. We elevate Latina leaders, mobilize our families and communities, transform the cultural narrative and catalyze policy change.

Charo Valero is the Florida Latina Advocacy Network (LAN) State Policy Director at the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health.  The State Policy Director supports NLIRH’s Florida state policy agenda to protect the reproductive health and rights of Latinas and to support the development and execution of our advocacy and organizing strategies state-wide.

Maria Angelica Ramirez

Maria Angelica Ramirez serves as the Florida Latina Advocacy Network (FL LAN) Fellow, where she empowers her community through grassroots organizing and civic engagement.

With a strong sense of solidarity towards various causes that affect her community, Maria Angelica has participated local South Florida activism for the past four years. Today, her focus is on the issues of Reproductive and Language Justice. Passionate towards human connection and collective healing, Maria Angelica brings her skillsets and wholeheartedness to NLIRH.

Dian Alarcón serves as a Florida Field Organizer at the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health, where she organizes to raise the voices of Latinas in Florida for policy change at all levels of government on issues that impact their lives, women’s health care and other social justice issues.
