DC Film ScreeningJoin us in DC for a documentary film screening of “Made in LA,” which depicts the lives of three Latina immigrants working in the Los Angeles garment sweatshop factories. A discussion and Q&A session will follow the documentary screening. Details here. |
NYC Happy Hour & Silent AuctionCome meet other reproductive justice advocates and learn about NLIRH's work. There will also be a silent auction with work from Eric Kim. RSVP here |

Our Latina Advocacy Networks around the country will be joining in the week of action. They'll all be gathering together to send "shoe notes" to Secretary Napolitano, demanding justice for immigrant women. Some groups will also participate in the blog carnival and host special events, listed below:

Tuesday 8/2/11: Radio interviews talking about the importance of supporting immigrant women. 10am-11am: Radio Manatial and 3:00pm-4:00pm Radio la Poderosa
Wednesday 8/3/11: 9am-10am: March for Immigrant Women and Health Fair in Pipeline Colonia and neighboring colonias
Thursday: 8/4/11: 7pm-8:30pm Brownsville, TX: What’s the Real Problem Cafecito and a presentation on Domestic Violence in our Communities
